This time of year always seems super busy. I'm getting lots of things done...or trying to at least :)

Thanksgiving Weekend
I really enjoyed my long weekend this past week. My mom and I had lunch and went shopping afterwards. I sketched my apple pie that I got for dessert. Vera and I went for a walk on Thanksgiving morning and almost all the leaves on the ginkgo tree had fallen. I sketched a Christmas tree lot while waiting to meet Zac to go to his Aunt's house for Thanksgiving. He had been hunting (more like watching) deer. We went to Huey's for a burger and watched the Memphis Tigers game that night. The next morning we ran the Recovery Run 5K with my sister and her husband. It was so cold!!! We warmed up with Starbucks after :) I'd never tried the caramel brulée latte and it was so good. On Sunday, we picked out our Christmas tree. Every year I think we are picking out a small tree and then when we get it home it's not so small. We got the smallest, skinniest one on the lot. I can't imagine if we had gone with the fuller one, haha. We put some colored sparkly lights on it and a few ornaments, but it's not fully decorated yet. I still have a whole box of ornaments left :) We listened to a few Christmas records that I found at an estate sale. I'm so excited about the Dean Martin one and less excited about the Diana Ross & the Supremes one. I found the perfect colored yarn to knit this bandana cowl that I have been dying to try. I just hope I can figure out how to do short rows :)

Getting my knit on
For the past few weeks I have been obsessed with knitting and my previous quilt fever has now subsided :( Funny how that happens ;) Hopefully I will go back and forth once I get sick of the other.
I finished this scarflet:
Working on finishing this scarf:
Started these booties for Zac (at his request!):
Bought more yarn + needles to start another cowl:

I've spent hours looking at Ravelry lately. You can see my projects here. Do you knit? Have a Ravelry account? I'd love to see what you are working on.

Adorable
The cold weather gets me in the mood to knit + I have been knitting up a storm. I made two scarflets. Here's the first (chunkier):
And the second (same pattern, less chunky yarn):
My new Kodak Brownie Hawkeye Flash I found antiquing in Jackson, TN. It was born August '53:
Vera turned 3 on the 20th :] I took her to work with me that day + at lunch I took her to Hollywood Feed. She got this pretty little fox + other treats:
After work Mimi brought Kacey over + some 3 Dog Bakery treats:
Vera is such an adorable dog. She hates being left alone, loves hogging the bed + snuggling, buries her bones in bedding, takes forever to go to the bathroom, loves sticks + doesn't know how to retrieve balls, is afraid of her own shadow, likes to hold my hand + give silly looks, has stinky puss breath + tracks leaves all over the house AND I love her so much!!!
