Memphis Urban Sketchers @ Idlewild Presbyterian Church

This month we sketched inside Idlewild Presbyterian Church since it was so hot outside.  I've never been inside before and it was beautiful.  I love older churches.  It was probably one of the most quiet places I've ever sketched until a lady started practicing on the organ.  I read later that it was built by the Bedient Pipe Organ Company, and was designed after the precepts of 18th and early 19th century organs in France.

  1. These are lovely! I used to sketch all the time when I was still in school but I almost never do anymore - thanks for the reminder that I totally need to start again:)

  2. We meet once a month so I try to sketch that much at least. I also carry around a pocket sketchbook and pencil for when the mood strikes ;) Have you heard of the sketchbook project? That might be fun to get you started. I signed up again.

  5. You should.  I got out of the habit once I graduated college too, but this group has really gotten me back into it.  ♥Linz
