Farewell, αντίο, Addio, Afscheid, Abschied, Adieu...

I'm going to Greece, Turkey, Italy, Austria, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, France, and England!!! I leave May 21st and return June 8th!  I'm going to try and post as much as possible- plenty of photos, journals, + maybe a few videos if all works out :]  Let's hope for internet connections + crazy electronics working!  I'm super excited!  My sister Lori is going with me.  We are using the tour group Trafalgar and going on the Classical Fantasy trip (breakways- for 21-38 yr olds).

Athens:



  • the magnificent Acropolis

Mykonos:



  • white-washed island with beautiful blue seas


  • Nightlife


Rhodes:



  • Visit Lindos and laze on the beaches


Kusadasi:



  • Turkish port


  • Ephesus- Odeon (concert hall), the Fountain of Trajan, the steam heated baths of Scolastika, the Temple of Hadrian and the Latrians, the Library of Celsus, the Great Theatere (largest in antiquity) where St. Paul preached, visit the humble chapel where The Virgin Mary is believed to have spent her last days, Basilica of St. John

  • Monestary of St. John


  • Grotto of the Apocalypse- here I will see the niches in the wall that mark the pillow and ledge used as a desk by the author of the Book of the Revelation and the crack in the rock made by the voice of God honouring the Holy Trinity


  • Port of Scala- quaint and picturesque town

Venice: (the only city where I've been before)

Salzburg:



  • Mozart's hometown


  • the setting for parts of the sound of music

Rhineland:



  • Rhine cruise past the Lorelei Rock- named for the beautiful Rhine maidens who lured navigators of this river to their dooms with her alluring singing.
