Quilt fever

I have been so excited to start a new quilt, but I made myself finish the wedding quilt first.  I have a habit of starting new projects before finishing old ones.  I think I was afraid to mess up the wedding quilt and wasn't really sure how to finish it.  I decided just to go for it.  I completed the top of it :)  YAY!  I'm thinking of adding a border before finishing it (if the backing is large enough for it).  I also need to figure out how I want to bind it.  So many decisions!  I'm ready to cross it off my list. 

I've been inspired by this quilt all over pinterest and Elise's new quilts.  I've never made a triangle/pyramid quilt before because it seemed daunting, but I've decided to give it a try.  Cutting the pyramids was easier than I thought.  I'm not sure why I've been afraid to cut my own charm squares or triangles.  I got a ruler like this one that makes it so easy.  Zac even wanted to get in on the fun!  So far I've cut all of the triangles and figured out a layout for them.  I may end up making it a little bigger though.  I just hope I can sew them right and don't end up with a bunch of crooked pyramids, haha.

Any tips you might have??? I would LOVE to hear them.
